Biography of Tom Englander

Tom Englander is Senior Consultant of Axis Leadership Group, LLC, helping business owners grow their organizations faster and to fulfill exit strategies by building business wealth and owner equity.

Tom has over 25 years experience as a business professional and consultant, covering a wide range of expertise: Strategic Planning, Finance, Controllership, Operations, Human Resources and Small Business Ownership. He is adept at strategic planning, leadership, management, team building and customer service having worked in diverse industries: wholesale, retail, home construction, commercial construction, and medical manufacturing. In addition, his consulting experience covers a wide variety of organizations and industires.

During his career he has held positions as: Senior Vice President - Organizational Consulting, Vice President - Senior Consultant, Vice President - Controller, Controller, Operations manager and Financial Manager.

Working as a contractor for the Small Business Administration, he helped small print companies identify and correct operational issues. As a result, not one of the three-dozen companies defaulted on their SBA loans.
Recently, Tom was Practice Head for Organizational Development for an international organizational consulting firm. There he helped grow the practice by increasing profit margins by over 300%
Working with the operations division of a major label manufacturer, he provided training to employees to help them form a high performance team, raising productivity by double digits.
He led a team that evaluated the economic impact of the about-to-be-opened DFW Airport on the regional economy, presenting findings to the Airport Board. The Acting Director admitted, "This was the first one of these studies that I've been able to understand."
Tom worked closely with a start-up company president, helping to identify a hiring mistake of his COO. His in-depth interviews with key employees helped the president find a solution to a sensitive human resources decision.

Tom has his Business Masters from Texas Christian University, an MMS in Finance and Strategic Planning from University of Texas - Dallas and a BS in Applied Mathematics (computers) from the University of Washington. He has been active in numerous community and professional organizations, holding local and international board positions.
